Re: track id. Have you tried asking him on his facebook? He's pretty
active on there. If you can't add him (he's currently got the limit of 5k
friends) then I'll happily drop him a message on facebook.whether he replies
is a different story J

jealous as hell. Couldnt attend due to having to pay off some debts before
my firstborn spawns forth into this world. Here's a few pages of May sets to
download : http://www.megadownload.net/search/derrick%20may/all.html . If
you check out some of the recent ones and can tell me on which set the tune
is I may be able to help. Would love to know what others thought of Derrick
May on Friday too. I don't suppose Studio 9 records the sets and makes them
available?? Again, jealous as hell
Bram

Hi everyone,
Glad my workmate (1/2 of Heat Like Me) gave me the heads up on the Derrick
May gig yesterday, would have been kicking myself if I had missed that one!
May's set was a good mix of stripped back rhythmic techno and pad/filter
build ups that required instant relocation to the sweet spot in the middle
of the dance floor. Apologies if some tall guy kept wandering in front of
your view of the decks ;-)
Great to see May grooving to the tunes himself rather than looking like the
stereotypical DJ wearing a mask of no emotion. Also props to the man for
playing for 5 hours (hopefully Coda will play his missed set at a future
party as I'm keen to hear what he is into these days). He was also really
approachable afterwards.
Also great to see Studio 9 back in action! Brings back a lot of memories. Is
it true that the old bouncer bought the whole Edward St complex?
Can any of the trainspotters out there ID a track played near the end of the
night. Really slow (probably <= 60bpm) punchy kick with a panning pad loop.
Could be German? Very nice wind down track before things starting winding up
again!
Cheers,
Dan
